Banana Slug painted in the round. Moist!

I live west of Seattle, which is close enough to claim a Jimothy connection, but not close enough to ever have a sighting. What we do have are plenty of banana slugs. I hope you see where this is going…

Yes! Banana slug art.

I painted this one with a garage sale purchased canvas (a haul of about 15 blank canvases for $10), and a mix of garage sale acquired paint/real paint, and some super-sketchy (hahaha) brushes. The word moist was an application of acrylic ink that I’ve wanted to try. The drippy word is probably my favorite part of the painting, and the most successful bit, too.

I haven’t hung this in the house for my husband to find. Maybe I’ll get inspired, and hang it at slug-level somewhere for him to “discover.” Fun for the whole family, really.

***BTW, I’m sorry I didn’t line up the painting with the slats of the table. It’s driving me crazy, but not crazy enough to actually get up and take the picture again.
