I contend that we shouldn&#8217;t be relying on Factiva for news feeds when <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/newsrss.jhtml\">Reuters<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/public\/page\/0,,0_0813,00.html\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/services\/xml\/rss\/index.html\">The New York Times<\/a> and over a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.themediadrop.com\/archives\/001581.php\">150 other domestic newspapers<\/a> have their content available in feeds. <\/p>\n<p>I know Factiva provides a 90 day archive to its subscribers, but couldn&#8217;t we teach our users to clip articles instead of relying on that archive?<\/p>\n<p>I also have confidence that RSS tools will emerge that not only screen out advertisements, but also allow for intelligent filtering based on keyword meta data.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone out there having a similar discussion with their library\/public information\/news gatekeepers?  Pros? Cons?  If I can stop paying Factiva all this money, I would really like to chuck them.  Thoughts?
