I’ve seen more posts written about information overload syndrome over the past few days. Scott White at Extracting Knowledge from Data has a revealing post about information overload.

I completely understand what he’s saying. I lost my Internet access last night and part of me was twitchy and restless because I could feel the posts piling up. I fell behind and was helpless to do anything about it — my flow was shattered. Rather than finding something productive to do, I kept trying to fix the problem and spent what should have been a quiet evening at home obsessing about my Internet connection. Until 1 am, obsesssing! So. How do we know when our brains are full and it’s time to go to bed? Or that we’ve spent too long in front of the monitor, and now it’s time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine? I don’t know.

Michael Jones at YAFLE thinks we should admit that feeds are like crack and we are as addicted to RSS as we are to Civ III. Fine, fine…I’ve written previously what it could mean if you can’t keep up with your feeds, but I think Michael’s right, too. There’s too much good information out there and not enough hours in the day to process it…

There. I said it. *sigh*
