Going places in America. Egg prices go up, planes go down.

Apparently when I get angry, I reach for the art materials and make protest images. Who knew? Lots to be angry about.

The current president is blaming the past administration for “DEI” hires causing an air collision that killed all 67 people involved yesterday. This, despite

➡️ January 20: FAA director fired

➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen

➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded

➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees

➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years

Seems to me that DEI = safety? Are we not looking at history at all? Taking blame has never been his way, so the bullshit flows forth. OMG, he’s just signed an “Executive Order” that says that Biden and diversity is the cause. That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.

DEI, by the way, stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and is a way of making sure everyone is considered for key roles and conversations in the public space. In the minds of those in power, if you’re not white, male, middle-aged, and rich, then you’re obviously a DEI hire and your very existence must be scrubbed at all cost. Irony is lost on these people.

“Obviously it is not standard to have aircraft collide. I want to be clear on that.” – A real thing said by Sean Duffy, new Secretary of Transportation. Thanks, Captain Obvious.

In Trump's America refills are for billionaires and eggs are for the rich. Hey, while we’re exploring irony, let’s talk about how this administration’s policies have caused egg and coffee prices to spike. Avian flu started in the last administration, but the current folks have squinched their eyes tight and jammed fingers in their ears so that they don’t have to deal with the spreading disease. I guess if you scream loud enough, dead chickens don’t cluck. Hasn’t stopped avian flu from decimating folks or infecting 70% of herds in California. Nor has ignoring things stopped a tuberculosis outbreak in Kansas (67 cases, that number again!).

Threatening tariffs against our allies and pseudo allies have consequences. Colombia (correct spelling of the country) demanded that returnees be treated with dignity, so they were threatened with tariffs. Coffee vendors went ahead and raised prices, like you do, and hey the gouging works so well! Let’s keep prices high! The whole threat tariff with Colombia came to nothing when their demands were cravenly met by the current president.

More drama to come, I’m sure, from the attempted mass firing of federal employees, mass stopping of all government spending, and just plain mass hysteria. Watch the markets, follow the money. Someone is benefitting from all this asshatery.

I continue to work on projects, drop truth bombs via Bluesky, and deal with my own life stuff of which, there is a non-zero raft of things going on. More later.
