I have a GE Eterna series Spacemaker microwave that has failed me, and I suspect, a lot of other people. My power has gone out a few times over the past weekend because of thunderstorms in the area, and each and every time I have to reset the date and time on the danged microwave before I can use it. What’s so necessary about the time? Why does it have to be reset before I can superheat my lunch? Does the microwave really, really need to know the date in order to be used?

It occured to me that the designer(s)/engineer(s) who built these microwaves were not busy, frustrated mothers of small children who had to put dinner on the table in a hurry, nor do they only have three minutes to grab breakfast before running out the door to work. The point is — busy people want to microwave, not set the time.

A little consideration would have gone a long way to making a customer happy. Instead, I’m disgruntled.

Stupid microwave.
